Just a few months after orders opened, it was clear. The Elroq compact SUV was a hit. It immediately won customers’ hearts and became the second best-selling electric car in Europe in 2025. Interest in it has not faded this year either.
So what is behind the success of the Czech Car of the Year 2026? This practical yet elegant SUV offers exceptional value for money: an attractive design, impressive driving characteristics, sufficient range and a spacious interior full of practical Simply Clever features. Families with children particularly appreciate the well-thought-out modular layout and the system of hooks and nets. Above all, the occupants have plenty of room, including passengers in the rear seats.
The Elroq is the electric alternative to the Karoq compact SUV. In many markets, its recommended price is comparable to that of its combustion-engine counterpart.
The Elroq also owes its sales success to its electric drive, which comes in versions to suit different types of customers. For commuting in the city, the version with a gross battery capacity of 61 kWh and a range of 453 km is enough. For longer journeys, for example into the countryside or to a country cottage, the version with an 82 kWh battery and a range of up to 577 km is a better fit. And when it is time to recharge, it takes just 26 to 29 minutes at a fast-charging station to go from 10% to 80%.
Built for quiet
Travelling in the Elroq is relaxing, partly thanks to its very well soundproofed cabin. The DCC adaptive chassis and progressive steering with a variable ratio also add to passenger comfort. In short, the driver can choose the damper setting to suit the road surface or their own driving style.
