Epiq-2
OK
Compact Outside, Roomy and Full of Ideas Inside
The compact Epiq electric car offers a surprising amount of space on a small footprint, along with several new features.
1,798 mm – Width
4,171 mm – Length
1,581 mm – Height
2,601 mm – Wheelbase
The Epiq is 4.17 metres long, only six centimetres longer than the Fabia, so it does not look like a giant in town. But open the tailgate and the modesty ends. With a capacity of 475 litres, the boot is one of the largest in its class and even beats the Scala, which is almost 20 centimetres longer. Up to 25 more litres can be found under the bonnet, and more than 28 litres fit into the various storage compartments and pockets. It is like a well-designed small flat: the floor plan is not huge, but clever use of every centimetre means more fits inside than you would expect.
The Epiq is the only Škoda electric car with front-wheel drive. This is because it is built on a platform that engineers adapted for small electric cars. It is complemented by smaller, lighter batteries, which give the car more interior space and lower consumption.
The Epiq is also the carmaker’s most affordable electric car. It develops the Modern Solid design language further and is the first series-production Škoda model to feature the new T-shaped light signature, a distinctive lighting pattern that lets you recognise it even in the dark.
And although the Epiq is compact, it does not have to stay on city streets. The most powerful version, the Epiq 55, covers around 440 kilometres on a single charge (WLTP) and can tow a braked trailer weighing up to 1,200 kilograms, which is enough for a lighter caravan. In this case, small does not mean timid.
One-pedal driving
Driving the Epiq is genuinely easy, and the one-pedal driving function helps with this. It is truly intuitive: when you release the accelerator pedal, the car slows down smoothly until coming to a complete stop. Škoda’s other electric cars currently in production also offer this function.
